ARE YOU A DISCIPLE?
Following Jesus. Becoming Like Jesus. Helping Others Follow Jesus.
Discipleship is more than attending church on Sunday. It is learning to follow Jesus in our everyday lives, becoming more like Him, and helping others do the same.
This fall, Floyd Chapel Baptist Church is going deeper.
Join Bishop LaRay Tillman Jr. and Altravise “Lady V” Tillman for our new discipleship Bible study series, Are You a Disciple? Together, we will move beyond simply knowing about Jesus and challenge ourselves to live as His disciples every day.
Our goal isn't simply to finish another Bible study. Our goal is growth.

We encourage everyone participating in the series to purchase a copy so you can read ahead, follow along during Bible study, and continue studying on your own throughout the week.
Your purchase supports the ministry! All proceeds from the sale of Are You a Disciple? will go directly to Floyd Chapel Baptist Church.

📚 OUR DISCIPLESHIP JOURNEY
Here's What We'll Be Studying
SEPTEMBER 8
WEEK 1 • WHAT IS A DISCIPLE?
IN-PERSON KICKOFF
We'll begin with the foundation: What does it actually mean to be a disciple of Jesus? We'll examine the difference between simply being a church member and truly following Jesus.
SEPTEMBER 15
WEEK 2 • LEARNING TO HEAR GOD'S VOICE
How does God speak, and how do we know when it's Him? We'll explore how God leads us through Scripture, prayer, and the Holy Spirit and how we grow in recognizing His voice.
SEPTEMBER 22
WEEK 3 • HOW TO READ THE BIBLE FOR YOURSELF
You don't have to depend on someone else to understand God's Word. We'll learn practical ways to read, understand, and apply Scripture to our everyday lives.
SEPTEMBER 29
WEEK 4 • PRAYER BEYOND ASKING
Prayer is about much more than giving God our list of requests. We'll explore worship, intercession, listening, surrender, and spiritual warfare as we learn to develop a deeper prayer life.
OCTOBER 6
WEEK 5 • DYING TO SELF
Following Jesus requires surrender. We'll talk about repentance, obedience, letting go of our own way, and choosing God's will even when it's uncomfortable.
OCTOBER 13
WEEK 6 • THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
How can you tell if you're really growing spiritually? We'll examine the Fruit of the Spirit and what the character of Christ should begin to look like in our attitudes, choices, words, and relationships.
OCTOBER 20
WEEK 7 • DISCOVERING YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS
You weren't saved just to sit. God has given you something to use. We'll explore spiritual gifts, our individual assignments, and how God equips every believer to serve.
OCTOBER 27
WEEK 8 • SHARING YOUR FAITH WITHOUT FEAR
Sharing Jesus doesn't have to feel intimidating or forced. We'll learn practical ways to talk about our faith and represent Jesus in everyday conversations.
NOVEMBER 3
WEEK 9 • BIBLICAL RELATIONSHIPS
Following Jesus should change the way we treat people. We'll explore forgiveness, conflict, accountability, healthy relationships, and pursuing peace God's way.
NOVEMBER 10
WEEK 10 • MAKING ANOTHER DISCIPLE
The journey doesn't stop with us.
In our final lesson, we'll learn what it means to pour into someone else, help another person grow in Christ, and fulfill Jesus' command to make disciples.
THIS IS ABOUT MORE THAN FINISHING A BOOK.
At the end of these lessons, we don't simply want to ask:
“Did I finish the book?”
We want to ask:
“Am I following Jesus differently than I was when I started?”
We want what we learn on Tuesday to show up in our decisions on Wednesday, our relationships on Thursday, our conversations on Friday, and in the way we represent Jesus every day.
Our prayer is that this series produces real transformation in the way we pray, study Scripture, obey God, handle relationships, serve others, share our faith, and help others grow.
Don't just attend Bible study. Don't just read the book.
BECOME A DISCIPLE.
Get your book. Join the classroom. Let's grow together.
